Restore contacts:
It is possible now to restore a text file containing contacts backed up from other applications, like in Outlook Express, the only constraint is that the first line should contain the fields and the fields need a separator. (See screenshots). The tool allows to map default fields to fields found in the file. It is possible now to insert duplicates.

Backup messages:
The mail database is completely parsed to retrieve all the messages stored in every directory and subdirectory. It is possible to select which account and directories should be backed up. You can save attachments as wel if they exist on the pocket pc.

Restore messages:
Same as the backup, you can select which account and directories should be restored to the device. Caution, if an account doesn't exist on the pocket pc, this application will discard the messages that belong to that account.

Restore appointments:
There was a bug in PPCBckpContacts where appointments with the same name on different dates weren't restored. This should be fixed in this tool.

Schedule backup:
It is possible to schedule a backup, each day of the week and this at a specific hour. If the pocket pc is suspended, it will wake up and do the backup. You can eventually control the number of backups to keep and switch off the pocket pc after the scheduled backup is finished.
The schedule backup creates a notification that can be cleared via the Options Menu.

File types:
There is only one file type now, which is .pib (Personal Information Backup), in fact it is just a zip file (so you can open it with a zip application) which contain the different text files used in PPCBckpContacts, so you can still extract these files, edit them on a pc using Excel or Notepad and eventually restore them without putting them back in the .pib file.

OpenWith adds a context menu handler to the Pocket PC file explorer that allows you to choose a different application to open a file than is registered by default. Install:
Copy the cab to your device and install. Instructions:
Tap and hold on any file in File Explorer, and choose "Open [FILENAME] with..." from the menu. Select a previously used application for this extension from the drop down list, or type or browse to a new program to execute. Arbitrarily complicated command lines are supported. Usually just the program name should be sufficient, however if the application needs command line switches, you can edit them in. The text %1 will get replaced by the selected filename, otherwise the filename will be added at the end of the command.] Note:
Make sure the program name has quotation marks around it if there are any spaces in the path to the program. It's best to always keep them there. Update Description:

MSS Converter allows to make conversions between many units. Supported units are currencies (with the ability to automatic update rates), lengths, areas, volumes, masses, speeds, temperatures, pressures, times, angles, energies and powers. The software is easy to use. You can setup the units to show or hide. The software supports VGA and QVGA resolutions, with portrait, landscape or square screens.

To install the software, copy the .cab file onto your pocket PC (via a memory card or ActiveSync), the execute it using the file manager. On the first run of the software, you can setup the language to use. Needless languages are deleted to increase free memory space.

PocketToolman is a systray utility that gives you quick access to Pocket PC's functions, programs, and settings.

PT2 supports Windows Mobile 6 Professional only. It is written specifically for the HTC TyTN II, HTC Touch, and the AT&T Tilt, though it should work with other Windows Mobile 6 Professional devices.

For Pocket PC 2000 / 2002, Windows Mobile 2003 (SE), Windows Mobile 5.0, please continue to use version 1.16 which you can download here (94 KB). Please note the old version does not contain new features found in version 2.
